This record was previously held by former Australian captain Aaron Finch.
Babar will play his 115th international T20 on Friday. He has led Pakistan in 77 matches. Which is the record for leading the highest number of matches by a cricketer in T20 International.
Australian former captain Aaron Finch has captained the second highest 76 matches. Besides, former successful Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has led 72 for India, Eoin Morgan 72 for England and Kane Williamson has led New Zealand in 71 T20 matches.
Former captain Mahmudullah Riyad has captained maximum 43 T20 matches for Bangladesh.
Apart from captaining the highest number of matches, Babar is on top of another record. As a captain, he won the maximum 44 T20 matches. Next up is Brian Masaba. Uganda has the second highest number of matches won at 44, but Masabai is the most successful in winning percentage.
